How does Burton Group promote Hospitality Suites to Catalyst
Conference attendees?

In the months before each Catalyst Conference, Burton Group launches a comprehensive marketing campaign (between January 17, 2006 and June 16, 2006) that includes email blasts, advertising, and web promotions targeting potential and registered Catalyst Conference attendees.

During Catalyst Conference, the attendees are reminded each day to visit the Hospitality Suites. Burton Group also posts signs throughout the conference venue to direct attendees to each Hospitality Suite.

How does Burton Group evaluate and select companies to host
Hospitality Suites?

Burton Group's primary goal in screening Hospitality Suite applications each year is to choose host vendors whose products and strategies are directly related to conference topics . (Conference topics are included in the Hospitality Suite application.) Vendors who are announcing new products, discussing new industry initiatives, or establishing new partnerships in the industry are strong candidates for hosting Hospitality Suites. Burton Group also selects a mix of both established vendors and younger companies that are entering the market with new products. A detailed list of logistical information and arrangement needs, including deadlines, will be supplied to vendors who are chosen to host Hospitality Suites.

TOP

What types of activities can host companies plan for Hospitality Suite?
Vendors are encouraged to be creative when planning Hospitality Suite activities. Many hosts build their suites around a theme, providing appropriate displays, music, food and beverages. Many hosts divide their suite into three sections: a food and beverage area, a product demonstration area, and an area for serious discussions and negotiations.

Hospitality Suites are laid out to encourage Catalyst Conference attendees to visit all vendors and move freely between the suites. Host companies may plan special events within their Hospitality Suites, but must refrain from any activities that encourage attendees to leave the premises or that could hinder the cocktail hour atmosphere of the Hospitality Suites.

Who should staff a Hospitality Suite?
Catalyst Conference attendees are a highly technical audience. Burton Group recommends that vendors limit the number of salespeople in their suites and focus on bringing product managers and engineers who can discuss products and strategic direction in detail with attendees.
